I am the high school classmate of Brooke McKay Shadburne who was killed on 5 April 1967 near Duc Pho south of Chu Lai on a medevac msn. Our class is celebrating our 45th reunion on 26 July 2003 in Ashland, Oregon. We are all writing bios for inclusion in a class book. I have taken the task of writing one on Brooke. I know the circumstances of his death, but very little else about his career. If you have members that could contact me with any information about his career, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for all the help you have given me so far in getting information on my high school classmate, Brooke Shadburne.
I've had responses from John Boden, Al Barbour, Joe Ellis, Ron Osborne, Ed Norvilas, and George Curtis. Thank you all very much and keep the info coming! John Boden took the trouble of calling last Thursday on his nickel. We talked for the better part of an hour. It was a very emotional experience for me!
This is a great experience for me to share memories of Brooke! You all describe him as I remember him in school. He was a great guy and obviously a very dedicated Marine!
