Message:
I was going through some of my fathers letters from the Vietnam era of Quin Nhan. In one he made mention of a Ammo Dump Explosion in Qui Nhon in aproximately Dec of 1970 to March of 1971 there was also one in late April to early May of 1971. I would like to know more about these and have not been able to find any newspaper accounts of these incidents. I am wondering if any of you can tell me where I would find these. Thank you so very much for all your time and work. Knowing about my fathers tiime in the military is of a great interest to me because I want to know what made him the man he is now.

FYI
on March 23, 1969, a Viet Cong Sapper team attacked a US munitions storage area in Qui Nhon, Vietnam, causing a fire and secondary detonation of ammunition stacks.

Olive:
I believe Qui Nhon was in II Corps and there were no Marines there in 1970. I was there, in their hospital, in '67 and I was the only Marine that I knew of.
Maybe he was in the Army.
