Looking to contact or hear from the pilot or crew members that did a cable medevac extraction near abandoned LZ Catapult on March 9, 1969.
I had multiple shrapnel and gunshot wounds, the worst being a large sucking chest wound. I was close to going into shock, but I remember on the way up seeing NVA swarming below and firing up at the chopper. The crew at Third Med stabilized me and sent me off to the USS Sanctuary.
I would like to thank anyone involved that day and let you know I am forever grateful for "hanging in there" until you got me out. I was a bloodied and scared young Marine and know I owe my life to a a dedicated pilot and crew and the good docs of Charlie Med.
