I am looking for info regarding an incident in 1970-1971 in which a mustanger Lt. was fragged by one of the guys we busted for drugs.Cant remember the Lt.'s name or the guy who fragged him.The Lt. lived to identify his attacker and he was taken to the I CORPS Brig by myself and a Staff Sgt Glover.Any info at all would be greatly appreciated.

The Lt. that was fragged was our Provost Marshall. He was sitting at his desk doing paperwork when the guy tossed a grenade through an open window. The Lt. saw the frag and hit the deck so he luckily escaped with some schrapnel in his side but not life threatening.

If this was done at ZULU Co. Marble Mt. it might have been 1st Lt. T.O. Miller. This is just a guess T.O. was assigned as OIC of ZULU Co. This happened after I left so it maybe just a rumor, but I heard there was a fragging in early 1971.

What Allyn said is true. T. O. Miller was fragged in early 71 by one of the guard members when he was assigned to Zuku Co. Before that he was a pilot in HML167.

Wow we never had any fragging when we were in country, but we did have two guys shoot two other guys in the squadron that I knew of. I guess all kinds of things happen in war.

No rumor. I was sent from HMH-463 TAD as an MP from mid Dec 70 until late Feb 71. I recall this event but I can’t recall the date. I would put it in January. After the bad guys were caught I guarded the guy who tossed the grenade. I was told to keep him standing, no talking and no sleeping. We were in the dark in a bunker and this guy was tired and worn out during my shift. SSgt Glover was the NCOIC of the MPs. Lt. Miller sounds correct and he did have a minor injury but I’m not sure where he caught it. I was told (can’t recall who) that the frag was tossed into a patio area as the Lt. was walking out.
