I am writing popasmoke, in the hopes that someone in your
organization can assist me in locating a Lt. Paul Bronson, pilot on a Huey, in which he saved my husband,Sgt. Jimmie Rocco Clouse 2060906 USMC. ChuLai Aug. 1965 during Operation Starlite. It's my understanding that he is now USMC Major retired. My purpose in locating this gentleman is to personally thank him for saving my husbands life. In the book written by Otto Lehrack, The First Battle, Operation Starlite, and the Begining of the Blood Bath in Vietnam, the author describes in detail, the rescue of Rocco and the all so important role Lt. Bronson played in bringing Rocco home safe. As described on pages 136 & 137. Rocco is deceased (Jan 1993) but as his widow I lived 29 years of Vietnam with him, and if he were here today, his would personally want to see Bronson again and shake his hand and say simply THANK YOU, I would like more info. on the reunion in Reno, perhaps if I were to attend I might meet someone that knows this man Paul W. Bronson. Also a recipent of the Bronze Star for his action in saving Rocco's life.
Paul W. Bronson
Checking the "Semper Fidelis" magazine late and came across the notice of the death of Maj. Paul W. Bronson retired Nov. 1977, died in March 2010. Semper Fi.
