Hi, Looking for info for HMR262 I was attached to it in '52 '53 itwas just formed at Cherry Pt. I understand it was changed from HMR to HMM. any info on HMR262 ? Thanks for any help.

There's some historical info on the HMM-262 website: HMM-262 History
The squadron has had the following designations:
HMR-262 1 Sept 1952-31 Dec 1956
HMR(L)-262 31 Dec 1956-1 Feb 1962
HMM-262 1 Feb 1962-present
