Anyone out there know what happened to Ist Lt WJ Keough VMO-6 68-69 and Ist Lt John J Sullivan VMO-6 68-69.
I heard JJ Sullivan stayed in and retired as O-6 as CO of Newport RI. He allegedly went from UH-1E's to A-6's. I remember once he told me when he was a 2nd Lt he was going to get out and become a lawyer.
I think one of my last flights as a door gunner I flew with Bill Keough as the HAC. We flew guns for Chatterbox or Cattle Call 46's for emergency medevacs, 9th Marines (?), Spring 1969, 0200, low ceilings, flying in and out of scud in a closed three sided valley, grunts in continuous contact, tracers everywhere, and I lose sight of the wingman as he kills his lights on his gun run. I was told that I put numerous rounds between the skid and the airframe of the wingman. Apparently everyone in the aircraft defecated and urinated. The story get better---but will have to wait about another ten years---I'll be seventy then!
