As some of you may know, one of our HMM-262 Phrog Phlyers, Igor "Connie" Barsky has been battling Cancer for quite some time. I have just received the following message:
"Connie is entering the final stages. The doctor has taken him off all medication except for morphine to keep him comfortable. Charlene prefers communications by email when possible. Her email address is cbarsky@tampabay.rr.com"

Connie Barsky
Yeah, found out about all this since I got back from Kuwait and the "next" war.
I'll always remember Connie Barsky at the meeting of Italian Govt people when we (and I) were accused of "implanting intelligence and seismographic monitoring devices" on Mount Etna in the summer of 1975. He was HDC on the Iwo Jima and I was the CIA implanted CH53 pilot (yeah...RIGHT!) ordered to do so.
We laughed, he smoked up the room until it was almost IFR, and never told them our real mission which was to take (unmenionable) amount of beer up there to get a quick chill for the ship's party the next day.
Before I see him again, I'm gonna have to make a stop at the rainbow bridge to meet all my former pets. I know he'll be on the other side of that bridge.
