I was in CH-37's during 61/62 and again from 63/66. Crewed one in Vietnam 65/66 out of Marble Mountain.

I was log clerk in the H&MS-16 maint office when you guys came over. Seems that was about the time we were moving to Marble Mt. Can't recall individuals, but do remember the 37's parked up by the runway. I think you had the logbooks in our little corner of the steel hangar, but can't recall if you had me keeping them or if you had your own guy. Also, don't recall a status board for the 37's but do remember detachment folks coming and going. The east wall of our building was covered in canvas, an indication that not all of the building steel material arrived in country. My 37 pictures have been posted on Popasmoke for a few years.

Karen and I winter in Mesa, AZ and always make a trip down to Casa Grande to visit Jim McCallum (GySgt, retired). Jim speaks fondly of his days in 37's on the east coast. I think Gunny Batt and I have been in touch before, likely when Gunny McCallum was ill several years back. GySgt McCallum (then Sgt) and I were together in '363 late in '65 and early '66 down at Qui Nhon and Ky Ha, then later in '66 'til March 68 at HMMT-301 at Santa Ana. Definitely someone who earned my admiration and respect. His health had improved when we saw him early this year and I look forward to seeing him again after the New Year.
