In 1968 or early 1969 a Huey of VMO-1 crashed in Jaxvlle, NC. The Crew Chief Sammy Harris was killed. I am trying to determine if this Sammy Harris graduated HS with me. We are having our 40th reunion next year and would want his name on our "In Memorium" board. Can anyone confirm Sammy was from Boston and/or graduated from Dorchester High School, Boston, MA?
Latest info seems to indicate the incident may have occurred later in 1969 than I had previously thought.
Still seeking info 4/16/04.

VMO-1 Crash
I remember the crash, pilot was John Barnard if it's the one I remember, but I can't remember the crew chief. Sorry.
