Can any one tell me how to find out how many mission I flew while in Hmm 164 . My dd214 only stated 1 air medal, with single mission . Crewed from Feb 68 until crashed in 69.

Request your 201 file from St. Louis.

Re: combat missions

Hey Gregg!
I'm not sure you can find out # of missions, but number of Air Medals. I took that number and divided by 20 ( number of missions required for an additional Air Medal) and figured that was close.

Our old class leader from Memphis, Sgt. Gene Creasey, was alive and well in the Little Rock area last checked. Hope you and yours are well!

What is a "201 file" and how does it differ from DD 214? How do you request it
Thanks

Re: combat missions

Dennis, Here is link to National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. You can file on-line and print a signature verification page to sign and mail in. I just did it in Jan and rec'd an inch think envelope in April.
It has things from boot camp on that I never saw before such as fitness ratings, etc.
It has copies of the citations I rec'd and the award recommendation forms and statements that generated them and the Air Medal citations and paperwork.

I still remember Creasey calling Greg, "Pollack", in jest, but he did it all the time....I found him through SPOKEO.com and looked his local number up in white pages. Might just be able to do it in white pages. Vince Pezzutto and I went to see him at his place in New River (this was mid 1967) when he was married to the former WM, whom he later divorced.... Apparently he drove a truck for a while and was getting up there in age when we spoke in about 2009-10 or thereabouts. Good luck. Let me know if he's still kicking'

Dale: Thanks for info: I'll give it a try. Patches said I rated a couple other medals not listed on DD 214.

Re: combat missions

A 201 File is the Army equivalent of a SRB/OQR.
