I am trying to get in touch with the Marine Commander (a Colonel at the time) of the forces based out of Quang Tri in early 1968. If you can help I would appreciate it.

The Army Medical Air Ambulance guys have an association headquartered in San Antonio - the Dustoff Association (our callsign in Nam). I am writing up my former CO for a nomination to the association's Hall of Fame and would like to have that Marine CO's input if he remembers a certain meeting in early 1968.

Thank you,
Love your site,
From Charlie Ridge to Hill 63 to Marble Mountain to the DMZ 1968,

If memory serves, the CO at Quang Tri in late 1967, early 68 (i.e. before the establishment of MAG-39) was the Deputy Commander, Marine Aircraft Group-36. His name was Col Owen V. Gallentine. Regrettably, Col Gallentine, or
O V as he was known, died many years ago.
