Dear Sir,
Perhaps you can help me. 50 years ago this summer (1959), a group of Second Lieutenants, myself included, left Quantico and reported to Pensacola for Pre Flight Training. Our report dates were staggered throughout June and July and we were assigned to Classes OI-22 and OI-23. In an attempt to set up a reunion next year in Pensacola, we are trying to locate as many members from those classes as we can. Many have been found, but a number are still missing. Upon designation as Naval Aviators from about December 1960 to February 1961, they would have reported to either El Toro/Santa Ana or Cherry Point/New River for duty. Because some were in the helicopter pipeline, I am contacting you with the request that you publish this letter in the next edition of the “POP A SMOKE” newsletter. Their names and home of record at that time are furnished below. So is my point of contact. Perhaps one of your readers will recognize a name and have information regarding him.
