I have read how this journey will be like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but I'm hoping the needle is large and thank anyone for possible information.

I'm searching for the pilot who used this call sign on Aug. 2, 1969, at Quang Tri who rescued my fiance after he stepped on a toe popper, and brought him to the USS Valley Forge.

He speaks of you often, and it would be an honor and privilege to thank you for saving his life, and for all the other lives you saved.

He was a USMC Flames Demolition in the 2/26, 2nd Bn H&S Co, G Co, MOS 0351

Thank you!

jjpcdr, you did not give the call sign. I believe I would thank the Pilot for getting the Helicopter to the point of Med-e-vac, then thank the Crew for saving your fiance on 2 Aug.,'69 at Quang-Tri. It takes the full crew to get the Mission completed in any situation. People are always thanking the Pilot, but believe me it takes the full crew. The Pilot did not find the med-e-vac site, jump out of the Bird's cabin, and run grab your fiance, and bring him back to the Bird, put him on, then jump back in his Pilots seat, and fly him to the Trauma Shop. It took the Pilot to fly to find him, the CrewChief and poss. the Gunner, if he was over several hundred pounds, to go get him, bring him back to the Helicopter, and the Pilot again to fly him back to a trauma unit. I am glad he was saved that day, but actually it takes the entire Crew to complete any Mission. I myself would have been the one to have gone after your fiance, and bring him back to the Bird, as I would have prefered my Gunner to stay on the guns in case the gooks decided to use the situation to blow up a 2 million dollar plus Helicopter. It happened a lot. Thank you. Semper Fi, and READY-APP.

Ace,

Thank you for the clarification, as you are spot on, it is a total team and I have viewed some of the photos of such rescues. I would be absolutely ecstatic to thank each & every one of them. The call sign was Chicken Man Yellow One, it's the only thing he remembers.

I will post another message in hopes then of finding the entire crew!

Thank you again! God Bless!
