I emailed Doc Maddox in response to his message to Slick.
He's no more than 9 or 10 miles from me!!!

Doc Maddox, Corpsman, Golf Co., 2nd Bn. 9th Marines, the hell in a helmet grunts (my brothers outfit) is wondering if he could find the CH-46 crew that medevac'd him off hill 174 up at the D on 20July68.
From what I have learned the past two years there's no way I can tell him no.
I just went over the HMM-262 AA's for that day and there were at least six birds carrying way too many guys, so just figure how many more were on other squadrons missions. All I found were coordinates and the phrases are I believe the outfits call signs cause I think only fire bases received names - someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Will take any suggestions from you guys to help put us in the right direction.
Going to meet him next week but from our hour on the phone I'd say he's as "normal" as the rest of us:rolleyes:
