Message: Good Morning - my name is Kent Morgan-and I am a aircrew member and historian for our warbirds-to include a C47 that flew into D-Day and our Huey Helicopter that saw action with the 1st and 9 Air Cab and 117 Warlords Assault Aviation Group in Vietnam and Cambodia - it has been restored-we have been flying our bird for approx.three years now-it took us 5 years to rebuild our bird-I am a member of IASAR (Indiana Air Search and Rescue-IASAR.org-please visit our web site) we are a not for profit 501c - we now have a 1952 47G Bell Helicopter that saw action in the Korean War - tail number N17611 - Year built: 1952 - Construction Number 1041 - Engine Manufacturer and Franklin 6A&6V335 SER - I am in the process of trying to track down the combat history of the helicopter and the Marine Pilots that flew her (we treat all our warbirds with the upmost respect and as living war memorial to those who fought and died on them-they are national treasures)-any help would be great !
– FYI – I was in the United States Coast Guard – search and rescue from 1965 to 1969 – our other aircrew members are mostly veterans - we have two Vietnam Marines veterans that are part of our aircrew-the rest are Navy-Army-Indiana National Guard-Air Force.
