I thought this might be of interest to some of you...
Actually - USMC Boot Camp 1964
Thanks Wally! GREAT vid!
I modified, slightly, your thread title, as this pic that appeared in the vid
was taken at the modified time.
Got to see myself again! :D:D:D
This pic ended up in all Boot Camp Books during the late 60's and probably
into the 70's. I've seen it in the books of Marine friends.
I recall laying my white towel on my foot locker that day to display the dis-
assembled parts of my M-14, and to keep them clean. he he he he he, and
that was nearly 46 years ago! I also remember my "shaving kit" rifle cleaning
kit.
In the pic is myself, standing at the left and then Cpl. T.G. Jones JDI. Behind
him bending down, is Cpl D.C. Fisher JDI. I forget the name of the Sgt, as he
was a temporary asst DI.
Jones and I have an interesting and "colorful" history.
Platoon 380, Honor Platoon - August to November, 1964.
Seated, to my right, with his head down, is our Platoon Honor Man: G.A. Wolf.
Seated to my left is, I think: Frank D. Hayes (centered btw Jones & I) and to his left is Phillip R. Smith.
Phil is right at Jones' right wrist.
Had to dig out my 46 year old graduation book to get these names.
