I have only been to THE WALL once twenty five years ago. I had several names to look up from HMM-262 but was not able to get past my brother's.

I do have things to leave for them and hope I have the strength this November.

You have did better than me! I tried twice but never could get a parking spot after driving in circles and the parking garages were full. My son lives up there west of Dulles airfield now and I might be able to make it next year. He said the city was slowly getting rid of most of the parking spaces, making visitors park away out in the sub-burbs and ride the buses or subways into town! The parking sucks!!!!!! I have a brother on the wall also, Khe Sanh 1968 26th Marines. Semper Fi. I went , last year, out to Jefferson Barracks National cemetary, and located their burial site, - remnants of about 40 that died in the C-123 shot down off the end of the runway. Nearby also is the burial site of other marines ( recon & aircrews) who were shot out of the air, crashed and burned. - infact, the area around the site is burial sites for those whose remains could not be identified since WW II. It's tough!

The Wall

I visited the Wall over the Memorial Day weekend with my wife. She helped me to get through it....and we found all of the '262 Tigers that I knew and flew with.......

It was a great time, visiting with old friends......I know we will all meet again.

The Wall

Gentlemen,

I've visited the Wall three times. Each one has been a moving and emotional experience.

I would urged everyone who has not had a chance to do so, please take the time to pay your respects to your brothers and sisters who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

November 10th? Wish I could join you. I would think Larry Zok and others will be there.

Take care

S/F Gary Alls

Yes, we will be at the Wall on the Birthday & Veteran's Day. We will be joined on the Birthday by Alpha Recon Association. Some of us were there to show support for Recon Team Breaker for their joint burial in Arlington. Since it will be in the middle of the week it will be hard to find parking, but we look for all that wish to attend. To those that have a hard time making it down to the Wall, we can help with that. Will let you carry the Memorial Wreath down so you won't have time to think about your buds till after Taps is played. We have been doing this since 1997 and it is still hard for a number of us to still make it down to the Wall proper.

I visited once in 1992 (I think) when HMM-164 held a reunion with a ceremony at the Wall.
It had to be the most emotional experience I ever had. I will never forget the Wall and those who are named there. They are true American Heros.
