To all there, Thank you so much for the picture of 1st Med Battalion, and to all the
Chopper Pilots and Gunners and Medics that came in on those choppers bringing in
my wounded brothers.

You all helped save many lives with your Sea Knight and Hueys. I have never forgotten
the sound, as I couldn't count how many came in there to the Helicopter Pads of
1st Med Battalion.

Everytime I here a medflite fly over or a huey or shianook choppers I run outside.

I helped umload the wounded many times, and one thing I always made a point of doing
if I was near the pad when they came in, I would give them the thumbs up sign
and they would return it to me.

I was in a news conference one time and told them during the press confeerence
that to Recon Marines the sound of chopper blades was a welcome sign, because
they were getting pulled from a HOT LZ, but on the other hand on our end, the sound
meant dead or wounded. I had a Recon Marine tell me he never really realized that
and that I had opened his eyes to that thought and he appreciated me saying that.

I don't know if I would ever qualify to be a member of your group, or even be able to
afford it, but I damn sure support you all as I do all our brothers and sisters in Iraq
and Afganistan.
