Got this message from Boomer at the Vintage Aircraft Museum in Ft worth.
He doesn't have actual costs yet But would like to know how much support there would be for a UH-1E and a Cobra to be put on display in Ft Worth

I found a UH-1E (Bureau Number 152426) in the boneyard at Davis-Monthan. A Google search revealed that this aircraft did serve with VMO2 in Vietnam.
I am hoping within the next few months to be in Tucson to see this aircraft. When I do, I will be able to let you know if the aircraft will be salvageable enough to turn into a static-display memorial.
When I was talking to the folks at DM they mentioned that they will start destroying the Cobra's (in storage) next year.
Depending on the costs of these aircraft. Do you think that the VMO2/VMO6 Marines would be interested in sponsoring a Huey and a Cobra.
I have attached a listing of all of the aircraft that are sitting in storage at DM. I hope this helps on selecting the correct aircraft.
Cheers!

151853 was with VMO-6 at CamPen and in RVN.
151848 was with VMO-6 in RVN.
152431 was with VMO-2 in RVN.
I flew them.

A check of my old log book shows: 151853 HML-267 Camp Pendleton 1969,
151848, 152431, and 154764 HML-167 RVN 1970.
Just reviewed the August 17 AMARC inventory list from Boomer.
Only 4 UH-1E's on the listing. 152431 is no longer there. Not sure where it went.
