Business Title: Pilot-in-Command

Reports To: Lead Pilot

Purpose of the Position:
Operates light utility and medium lift helicopters in support of multi-ship air assault and transport missions. Special mission tasks include fast rope, rappel, armed escort and MEDEVAC operations in a hostile environment.

Principle Responsibilities of the Position:

A. Serves as an aircraft pilot/ copilot and aircraft commander.

B. Completes flight planning and conducts mission following government and company regulations using aeronautical charts and navigation instruments.

C.Conducts helicopter pre flight and post flight inspections to detect leaking hydraulic fluid, inoperative control, low fuel level, or other unsafe condition, following checklist.

D.Writes required information in the flight record and aircraft log book.

E.Participates in aircrew coordination to safely and effectively operate the aircraft.

F.Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education Required:
A.High school graduate, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

B.Completion of manufacturer’s course of instruction, equivalent military flight training, or DynCorp- International transition program of instruction for the
assigned aircraft.

Experience Required:
A. 2500 hours total helicopter time to include 2000 hours combined as a Pilot in Command (PIC), Instructor Pilot (IP), (SP), Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP), or Instrument Examiner (IE)

B. 50 hours Night Vision Device (NVD).

C.All Pilots performing (PC) duties; must be MI-8/17 (PC) qualified prior to arrival in Theater.

D. Mission Pilots possessing assault helicopter experience is highly desired.

Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

A.Qualified and current day and NVG in category required and in MI-8/17 desired. Current FAA commercial helicopter Airman’s Certificate and current Class II Medical Certificate.

B. U.S. Citizen; Eligible to obtain a SECRET CLEARANCE.

C. Basic knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook).

D. Ability to communicate fluently in the English language.

E. May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including working in extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
