Subject: CH-46 induction into PACIFIC AVIATION MUSEUM
Forwarding e-mail and photo link that celebrates the induction of the CH-46 into the Pacific Aviation Museum.
I attended this wonderful induction and Hawaiian Blessing of the beloved CH-46 into the Pacific Aviation Museum along with many dignitaries. Jay Dunn and Grady Gesky are volunteers at PAM and veterans of the Purple Fox Squadron, HMM-364. It was a touching event and one I'm very grateful to have attended.

Yeh...what Joe said.."Finally". Only in my case.,good close photos of my beloved '46 in blade fold configuration. Been hunting for pics such as these as an aid to building scale model(s) both to save space & as an option for a couple of fellow crew chiefs circa Vietnam,Republic Of.
With blades spread, this assembled kit is approx. 3ft. long by 2Ft. wide...,making it difficult to display & more at risk for damage.

And here is a video of Col. Sean Killen speaking at the induction. He was the CO Of HMM-364 in 2007 when they were deployed to Iraq and talks of the crash on 2/7/07. Give a Shit!! 😃

Mike,
Do you know where you can get a set of dimensional drawings of CH-46? I want to build a 1/12th scale model. Approx. 48" long.

Craze,
A few of us (Darrell Tygart. Warren McDonald, Larry Zok, and others met in Branson, Mo. in 2005 for the Ross Perot "Welcome Home Viet Nam Vets" celebration. Had a great time there. One of the most telling was in one of the many vendor tents. In one, they sold scale model teak helicopters and we all found a CH-46! When we unboxed the them on the bottom where the hell hole would be was a sticker thar read "Made in Viet Nam"!!!!!!!! WE were knocked out abd all had a good laugh. The Phrog had indeed come full circle!!!

Bruce,
 At 1/12 scale.,this model would measure approx. a whopping 7ft. length x 4ft.2in. width x 1ft.6in. height. Pretty damned big even for an RC unit.
With an overall length of 48".,as you mentioned.,it's more like 1/24 scale (rotor blades extended for an "A" model).
There are more sophisticated modeling sites that offer custom drawn plans (for a price $$$) If you want I can put you onto them & a few sites that you can go to for dimensions at full scale that they will require.

Joe,
Kinda reminds me of a wooden model of a couple Indians paddling a canoe that my parents let me buy at a souvenir shop just outside a Cherokee Indian reservation in the Carolinas when I was a child. Under the "hand-crafted" sticker on the bottom.,"MADE IN CHINA" was impressed in the wood. Didn't think my father was ever going to stop laughing.
