Thanks Ben & Slick for a view that is not the one most have of Memorial Day. Usually you hear "Happy Memorial Day" from the average well meaning citizen. It always strikes me "Happy?" does not discribe the real meaning of the day. Most just figure the day has something to do with the military & we have a long weekend to enjoy. The only happy part I see is that we had & have those that would & did sacrafice their lives for our Country. A day they live on in our hearts is the way I view it. I have 15 of those that gave their all WW2 on the Punch Bowl wall of the Pacific that their bodies never returned & those on the Vietnam Wall to remember that day. My humble opinion . SF Paul

paul! Sure does seem as you have just said1 BUT today I did have a Doctor ( I was in to see) Put his hand out and said Jerry thanks so much for your service, and I know its been a long haul for you. I kind of took a moment and then said " You know I'd do it again" Just wish my own kids and family could get it,and How much was given by so many to have what we (Hope to Keep Having). A GREAT COUNTRY! God Bless you ALL ,and Keep each other in your prayers. Thanks .

Thanks, Slick.

I saved the pdf, on my own computer, as it is an excellent description of the true meaning of the day.
