I recently became the proud owner of a copy of this great book by Lt.Col. William R. Fails.

If anyone is in need of information contained in this book, I would be more than willing to research it for them, and pass along anything I find.

MArines and Helos

It's a great read! I found a copy, used, from Amazon for much less than I thought it would cost. Still in good shape, inside, although the cover was worn. It was a copy from a library somewhere. Excellent information about those that were there before us.

What do you mean "those that were there before us"? I know a whole lot of those named in that book. It is a great book.

"Marines and Helicopters 1946-1962"

There is another volume of that work titled "Marines and Helicopters 1946-1962" by LtCol Eugene W. Rawlins, USMC

Don't miss it for the "rest of the story".

Marines and Helicopters

I bought both of these books from http://www.abebooks.com They do not hold books themselves but act as a clearing house for other booksellers. I've bought many books from them and find that the condition of the book has always been better than their description.

for Marines & Helicopters, 1946 to 1962, they have 10 books,from $20 to $35
for Marines & Helicopters, 1962 to 1973, they have 20 books from $ 6 to $40.

The price reflects the condition. $6 is a paperback. $40 is a book in 'as new' condition. My pair were about $25 each and looked like all the other books I have. No tears, marks, etc..,

I searched for US Marine Corps. There were 4699 titles listed priced from $1 to $4700.

THose before us

πŸ˜€ Orlando,
Unless I mis-read your profile, like me, you didn't begin in Marine Helicopter aviation until after 1962. You have a year on me, but neither of us was there when it started, I too, know plenty of those names and places, first hand. Many of the poilicies and procedures were learned and putin place by those very Marines during periods before the book began in '62. I think you and I both had the pleasure and benefited from their prior experience. That's what I was referring to. No slight intended.
