Yes it is.

I need a little help. I just looked down at my RMI and can't figure out which way the photo is oriented.

Further, TACAN, and ADF seem to be inop. I left my maps back in the Ready Room.

The runway is NOT in sight, and tower does not come up on guard. The transponder is INOP.

Maybe someone can explain the town and the rest of the geography.

Thank you.

Picture is a puzzle

I agree with Ray.... something is wrong with the picture... in my mind's eye it is reversed 'left to right'.... maybe I'm wrong... wouldn't be the first time.

Marble

IMHO, the problem is - this is a "now" photo and not a "then" photo. Way too much modernization. Still South of the runway though.

Marble Mountains

Agree with Larry, South of the MMAF facility, but still headed/facing South. New stuff everywhere, probably made of aircraft parts! LOL!:D

Pull up photo 2703 from PAS photos and put it aside of the newer photo. I think the new photo was taken from the larger mountain closer to the beach, looking SWW almost west.

I have to admit that the photo from Wikipedia had me going for
a bit as well.Something just didn't look right.
However, after comparing it with other pics, checking out the topo
maps & satellite views,I have to concur with Joe & Bob.
Guess it all boils down to camera angle & composition, changing
scenery etc. playing games with the mind's eye.(& memory)
"Up-to-date" visuals make the area look more like Laguna Beach
than the Marble that we remember.
Those folks have been busy,busy,busy.Ha.Ha.
