Gentlemen,
I have posted this to all former HMM-263 members and I thought that some of you might want to send a card or note also. Thanks in advance for your support.

S/F Gary

Seasons Greetings

As one holiday of giving thanks passes us by, another one of celebration is on the horizon. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the next holiday than to try and form new friendships with our brothers that are now serving with HMM-263.
I know that some of our members are already sending items to the squadron now.
I’m ashamed to say that so far I haven’t. Not for the lack of wanting to but for the simple reason of just not getting off my duff and doing something about it. So I am asking those of you who are like me to take the time to help bring a little joy and to brighten up someone’s day.
I know that during my time in country and especially around the holiday season one of the things I looked forward to was getting mail from home.
I have made contact with the commanding officer of HMM-263, who is LtCol Roy A. Osborn. I e-mailed and mentioned that I was with the USMC Combat Helicopter Assoc. and wanted to try and get the former members of HMM-263 to send holiday greeting cards to the squadron. My only problem was that I didn’t know anyone in the outfit and asked if we were to send cards addressed to him would he please pass them on to the members of the squadron. Needless to say his reply was very supportive and he would be happy to pass on the cards to the Marines and Sailors in his squadron. He asked that the cards be addressed to himself or to SgtMaj John F. Rethage
So here’s the address: HMM-263 (REIN)
UNIT 77061
FPO AE 09509-7061

Please join me in spending a little time and effort in extending a hand of friendship by sending a card to our fellow squadron members and possible future members of Popasmoke. In the cards, introduce yourselves and put in a line about what you did when you were in the squadron. It’s that easy. Many thanks in advance and have a great Christmas and Happy New Year.
Ps: Don’t forget to mention Popasmoke!!
