H-19

In 1956 the andrea Doria sank after colliding with the Stockholm. I lived right behine the Brighton Marine Hospital in Boston at the time, and the injured were flown to the hospital in H-19's. I was 8 years old at the time but remember seeing them fly in all day. It was the first time I ever saw a helo!

H-19

Was playing at Kennie Weaver's house (eventually ended up in Witness Protection) at Pearl Harbor when an H-19 landed across the street on the golf course. The crew chief opened the clamshell doors, looked around, closed it up and they lifted off. My first up close look at a helicopter.
