The Board of Directors of the OV-10 Bronco Association would like to announce the election of Roy "ARM" Pitt as our Vice President. Roy will take over from outgoing VP Terry Tabor who is devoting more of his time to the FAC Museum. We would like to than Terry for his outstanding contributions to the Bronco Association.
Roy's joined the Marine Corps in July 1967. His attachment to the OV-10 goes back to early 1968 with VMO-1 at MCAS New River, NC where he was a jet engine mechanic. He reported to VMO-2 at MCALF Marble Mountain in September 1969 and was a crew chief for both the AH-1G Cobra's and Broncos until the squadron split in December 1969. Sgt. Pitt moved to Da Nang with VMO-2 in February 1970 and continued to serve as the Assistant Line Chief. ARM helped pack the squadron when they left Vietnam in March 1971. ARM was discharged from the Marine Corps 3 days after returning to the States in March 1971.
He has been a project manager for Electrique Corporation for 28 years. He has been an OBA member since 2002, a life member since 2003 and a Board member since October 2003. Roy and his wife Carol live in Texarkana, Arkansas. Roy is also a member of the USMC Combat Helicopter Association and the VFW.
As an additional duty Roy and Carol have volunteered to take over the operation of the OBA PX relieving President Jim Hodgson of some of his duties.
