I went to the Vietnam Veterans Reunion in Kokomo, Indiana this past month
for the first time and can't say to much about it really. However as I spent the better part of 5 hours there this Huey kept buzzing the site and everytime I would stop and watch and listen. After a few hours of this I just couldn't stand it any longer and went and paid my money for a ride. As I had only dealt with CH46's the Huey ride was well worth the money. It was like going home again. While I was excited and nervous while waiting to board her, as soon as it lifted off, a calming effect took over and I could put myself right back in the Nam again. As I watched the pilots fly it was a good feeling.
Anyway here is the website. This organization has purchased and totally rebuilt a Huey to perserve her place in history. If your ever around where they are making an appearance it is well worth the time.
I tried to figure out how to post the sounds of a flyby and a hover but didn't have the time. If you go to the website you can watch and hear the sounds of a Huey.
