HAL-3, USN most decorated helo squadron and VAL-4 flying OV-10s should be added to data base
Even though I have friends who flew Helos in the Navy I don't think we should add them to a Marine Corps Data base
Good point Jardo, but they were there assisting our grunts too, true?? We lifted some Huey parts and a CPO from Danang to just North of Quang tri (from memory) where they had a few based near the river.
Interesting question. Do they meet our criteria??

@JoeReed Joe we assisted a lot of Army units do we want to add them also?
We have already morphed into something other than the original intent. Enough is enough!
Jardo
Good point my friend. However we are a department of the Navy. Just sayin’. I’m on your side. The Army lost more helicopters in RVN than was owned by the Marine Corps!!
Besides, they’ve got their own websites. Saw on one site that their Huey would lift more than a CH-46A!! Lol! They were serious about That too!! We could lift 3,000 lbs on the hottest day in RVN. Their UH-1 (in 1968 guys) wasn’t even close to that. Later UH-1s were better but so were CH-46Ds! I’m for letting those Army caissons march along elsewhere.

@JoeReed Don't understand what all this lifting has to do with allowing others to join our organization.
All I said was when we started this thing back in the late 80's and early 90's it was meant to be a Vietnam Helocopter Crew Organization. It has now Morphed into something else. It was meant to die out. The focus has been lost

Understand Jardo. I think all of our helo/swing wing Marines belong here but as for the others……I’m not sure.
