My name is Kenji Horn and I am the current President of the Onslow Vietnam Memorial Foundation in Jacksonville, NC. I wanted to let you know that Phase One of the memorial is under construction and a dedication/ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009. The event is free & open to the public. This is one of the few memorials to list all 58,229 names. If you are not familiar with the project, please visit our website: http://www.onslowvietnammemorial.org

Please help us spread the word (through websites, emails, news media, etc). While there will be various esteemed guests present, we want as many Vietnam Vets there to share in the experience (after all it is being built for them).

Also, we hope to have a helicopter fly-over. I understand that some of your members have restored some Vietnam era craft. Do you think they would be interested in performing the fly-over? We think the base will do it, if they can't . We just felt it would hold more meaning seeing the birds from that period (of course most of the 46s here were in Nam, too). AMs Pat Walker may have attempted to contact you about this. She is the chair of our dedication committee. She has asked me to take over this task, so please respond to me.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer. My email is: vietvetmemorial@yahoo.com & my phone # is 910 389 0004.
