Should military pilots who have been reassigned from cockpits to ground-based computer consoles to fly remotely-piloted vehicles continue to draw the same flight pay as pilots who still fly jets and helicopters?

Pay and Allowances
I work in the Arkansas National Guard Joint Operations Center. During the Hurricane Katrina period we had a young 2LT that was talking about flight pay and awarding Air Medals to UAV operators. He was the Platoon Leader for the UAV platoon in the MI company.
I told him I better not see him wearing an Air Medal, we earned ours the hard way. Actually flying to get them.

Air Medals are for those that flew (or fly)

Good for you. I hope you set the youngster straight! That would be a slap in the fact to those of us that earned ours the "hard way".
