The Marine Corps’ first official graduating class of crew chiefs for the UH-1Y Utility Helicopter march in line after receiving their wings from Lt. Col. Mark E. Sojourner commanding officer, Marine Light Attack Helicopter Training Squadron 303, at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, March 12. The UH-1Y replaces the UH-1N that has been in service since the Vietnam War. The UH-1Y has greater capabilities for weapons systems, such as the ability to carry 12 rockets as opposed to the previous model’s seven.
crewchief wings
What does the Crewchief wings look like?? It wouldn't be the combat aircrew wings if they haven't seen combat!?
Naval Air Crew Wings: gold with anchor and AC in the center
i know all those guys in that class, i left CMT(crewmember training) about the same time they did... the thing is they all got stuck at HMLA/T-303 which is a non-deployable training squadron..
Aren't they the same as the Combat Aircrew Wings w/o the stars?
Used to be they could only be worn when you were actually assigned as air crew vs the CAW were a permanent and are worn if you change MOS or even Service (ie Army).
AC Wings
Nope they're gold with AC on them.
After Combat
I todays Corp, do they wear both pair after they receive CAC wings or just the CAC wings like we received?
just the CAC after they earn them
