Defense Secretary Robert Gates wants to ax the Pentagon's two most high-profile rotorcraft projects -- the Combat Search-and-Rescue (CSAR-X) and VH-71 presidential helicopters -- essentially wiping clean the drawing board for new starts in military helicopters for the foreseeable future.

I'd change this post a bit for factual clarity, since I like Secretary Gates. I'd rephrase it to read " As requested by President Obama, Defense Secretary Robert Gates will axe the Pentagon's two most high profile fotorcraft projects etc.etc." Deja vu Bill Clinton all over again. Pray to God that we can get thru the next 4 years and the Corps can survive the cut backs that lie ahead.....

best thing in a long time - Foreign Helicopters for the Wh.House what a B/S
thank you Sec. Gates for canc this program- now a few ret. Col/Gen. need to
look for a new Job. anyone ever hear of Sikorsky - proven and they have
the S92 fits the bill.
same goes for the A/F tanker, ever hear of BOEING, BUY AMERICAN.
