The filming of THE PACIFIC WAR for HBO is underway in Australia. This will be similar to BROTHERHOOD OF MEN but will feature Marines in the Pacific theatre, including Chesty, Sgt John Basilone (MOH) and PFC Percy Sledge. If you want to get an insight into the progress of the filming, Capt Dale Dye is writing a weekly blog of this filming on his website.

For students of Marine history and World War II, the blog takes you from the actor training (both Japanese and Marine) in July 2007 thru the present day filming. An interesting read.

Go to the website http://www.warriorsinc.com/cfblog/ and click on THE PACIFIC WAR. Click on the highlighted dates in JUNE 2007 and work your way chronologically through this years filming. Dale includes info on this year's Marine Corps Ball as it would have been in 1943.

Looking forward to the finished product.
