(Chili, N.Y.) -- The bridge over Scottsville-Chili Road was renamed Friday in honor of Private James Widener.

After graduating from high school, Widener joined the Marines Corps. He was declared as missing in action on June 11, 1967, after a helicopter crash over South Vietnam.

Widener's remains were positively identified in 2006 and buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

His brother, Peter Widener, said, "It focuses on the point that my brother is home now. He is in Arlington, he is home now the community comes by and sees this everyday, probably salute it but Jimmy is home now."

The bridge unveiling was followed by the playing of “Taps” and the singing of "God Bless America.”
