Tom Petri, one of the first group of 1st ANGLICO Marines to leave Hawaii for Vietnam, and who was detached to the 2nd ROK Marine Brigade, gives the first detailed accounting of 1st ANGLICO's history in Vietnam, at least so far as I am aware.
AuthorHouse published the book, which is available online at http://www.authorhouse.com/BookStore...x?bookid=56395 , as well as places like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc. The first printing had a typo and was almost immediately pulled back, and so beware of purchasing from sites such as eBay.
My copy arrived by UPS at dinnertime yesterday. I read until lights out. It's evident that Tom's research was thorough, including published and unpublished Marine Corps and unofficial documents, and countless interviews. I'm just beginning the actual accounts, and the names are familiar.
Tom describes a few days in the lives of a lot of ANGLICO Marines and Korean Marines. A lot of the information that I've seen about the Korean Marines is from second- or third-hand hearsay, and is total B.S. In this book, Tom gets it right.
Two thumbs up and a big OORAH!
