For Operation SHUFLY in April 1962 , HMM-362 had it's normal compliment of 24 UH-34Ds supplemented by three OE-1Bs from VMO-2 and a Marine Corps C-117.

HMM-362

George,

When did the Eafle Flight and Tiger Team concept first enter the war and how did they come into being.

Good question Tom

HMM-362s Commanding Officer, LtCol Archie Clapp began the quick reaction flights used to spot the enemy by use of aerial observation, these flights were called "Chickehawk " or "Eagle" flights.
