Thank you for letting us know about Frenchy. Prayers are going out. I hope many more will go out as well. Please Norm, get out of the Hospital as fast as you can. Our city water around here infects kidneys bad. Hope its just bad water. I do Pray its Gods will you get to go home just real soon. S/F, Ace.

Re: Frenchy Norm Lafountaine is down

Tim, I do hope Norm goes home next week. The kidney is the main problem. If it doesn't get better there will be a transplant. Just depends on an available one to get it. Hope it doesn't happen though. I do believe Prayers will help. Semper Fi, and READY-APP.

Re: Frenchy Norm Lafountaine is down

Mike I too sure hope Frenchy gets to go home by at least the middle of this coming week. Since they have a drain tube in the kidney, and giving him heavy, rather very strong antibiotics it just may do it without any kidney work at all. He is tough, and with all the Prayers going out for him he could be home by at least wednesday. I had written this already, but it disapeared. I'm sure he has the best of Doctors. Semper Fi, and READY-APP.

Frenchy
Someone on this thread said you might be drinking the water. Have to be carefull of that without the proper amount of alcohol. Seriously, take care Brother and hope to see you in May at New River.

Re: Frenchy Norm Lafountaine is down-drinking water

Steve, guess it only happens to me, but when I use the city water to drink, my kidneys enlarge, and I plug up. Don't you think after awhile you would single out the water as the cause and stop drinking it? I hope the hospital has a reverse osmosis system installed to take the clorine and everything else out they put in it to keep a good clean color. Used to work with it, but not here, and you add a bag of this, 'no, to much its cloudy, then add some of this, boy that makes it look clean and all, but its smells like clorine. Then you say well looks good to me', and leave it alone. We get letters from the water dept every several months saying the tests show it has a little more of this in it, and a little more of that in it, but its safe to drink. I don't think so. If I did, I'd be in the hospital with kidney failure. I sure hope Norm gets to go home soon. I'll pay almost 2.50 for 3 gallons of it to drink. Simple to me. Semper Fi, and READY-APP.

Re: Frenchy Norm Lafountaine is down

Tim, believe I'll wait until he gets home. He is full of the needles with the drip meds, bet he has shots 3-4 times a day, and all the blood tests he has to have. Answering mail would be the last thing I'd want to do. Hasn't been long I was there as well. Thank you for the e-mail for sure. Just hope they can save his kidney. Stay warm, and Dry, Semper Fi, and READY-APP.

Re: Frenchy Norm Lafountaine is down

Gentlemen, Good news.

Just talked to Frenchy's wife, Johnny, in regards to his health this afternoon at 3:15 west coast time.

He had been in the hospital for seven days due to a kidney infection. Which was in fact an infected kidney stone.

He is now at home recovering and doing well. Eating, drinking and napping a lot. At the end of this month he goes back in for X-rays to try and locate this stone and he will have some sort of treatment, (not sure what it is called) to blast the stone into small particles so that he may pass it.

She stated that he is otherwise in good health and spirits and looking for all of this to be over soon.

I mentioned that others on the PAS web page had asked about Frenchy and she replied "Tell everyone thanks for the thoughts"

If I hear more later I will pass it on.

Re: Frenchy Norm Lafountaine is down

Gary, that is Great. I hate he has to go through the blaster for the stone. They are not to plesant from what I've understood. Just glad he is home and the kidney is saved. (actual count is 1680). Semper Fi, and READY-APP.

Re: Frenchy Norm Lafountaine is down

My father had the same problem with a Kidney stone.
They put him in a bathtub and turned on a Ultrasonic sytem that breakes down the stone into sand and then it passes easly.
Told my Dad he didn't drink enough beer.
Get well soon my friend.
