Mr.. Jack “Sparky” Ehrhardt will be honored at a Formal Tea at the Erie VA Medical Center by friends he has known for years. He thinks that is all he is getting. (-:The tea will be held at 1:30-3:PM Conference Room 1 at the Erie VA Medical Center, 135 East 38 Street, Erie , PA 16504
Surprise recognition by Congressional and State Government (Lt. Governor’s of PA will be giving a proclamation to Jack). I have found that the Military Order of the Purple Heart is Considering giving Jack a high honor. This is still in the works right now. I would like to see if some of the old Squadron would show up. Jack holds a Masters Degree and reads this website from time to time so posting this could be a security problem to the surprises we have in store for him.
Jack has worked as a VA Counselor and Vet Center Supervisor since 1 June of 1982. His official retirement date will be 8 July 2005. Jack has counseled countless veterans in Ohio and in Pennsylvania in his tenure with the VA. Jack was the sole survivor of YK-13 that was shot down during Tet. The aircraft was commanded by Major Demko.
Jack now walks with a cane because of the injuries from that crash. I am a member of the Popasmoke Association and I have been trying to reach a Purplefox for a month now with no success.
