All Lucky Red Lions:
We have been contacted by the company that makes our challenge coins and if we do not 're-order' any coins by June, the molds/dies will be destroyed. I find it hard to believe that you wish for that to happen, so I put it to all Red Lions to please respond so that we don't lose our molds/dies for the coins, otherwise if and when we reorder we will have to pay for them to be remade! Once we reorder it resets the clock for another three years before the molds/dies are again threatened with destruction.
That is June of this year, 2012. I am sure our 'funds' have enough to purchase a minimum order of 50 coins and the molds/dies will not be in jeopardy for another three years.

We have a production cost breakdown, but there has not been a consensus of how many to order so am waiting on a decision from a 'higher authority' to proceed with an order. Once we have figured out how many we are going to order I'll post the final numbers.
The last time we sold them for $10 @ each and any revenues left after the initial purchase went/goes into the squadron's funds for future use. The only one making money is the mint making them and the squadron. I am/was, trying to make sure there are/will be, coins available for the Popasmoke-Orlando 2012 Reunion, for those Red Lions who go, and that we will have coins for our 2013, off year reunion, besides keeping the molds/dies, from being destroyed.
Thanks John for putting your 2 cents in... you and I seem to be the only ones that are interested.
