The Squadron has been using Red Lion for several years though it is a
mouthful. My Group CO, Col Mike Love, was a Red Lion as a Lt. He said that
they used Lucky Red Lion, which is more of a mouthful. Over the last
several years the Lucky part of the name had dropped out, but we have
brought it back to the Squadron's historical correctness. We plan to start
using LUCKY as the radio call upon return to Hawaii.
We did bring back an updated version of your old nose art too. We are using
gray on gray lion over shamrock. We did a full color acft with white
shamrock and red lion in honor of you guys, but we just had to drop that
acft off at the depot in Korea. See attached pic. Take care and stay in
touch.
