Doug Morrison, Capt. USMCR, passed away today from complications of Bladder Cancer. Doug was with HMM-262 as a CH-46 H2P and HAC in 1968. was one of the "Poor Devils" that had the Khe Sanh duty for a time. He also served a stint as OIC of Phu Bai DASC. A Native of Massachusetts, Doug settled in Brevard County Florida and passed away at his home there under hospice care.
No info on services, but they will be held in Palm Bay, Florida.
I had known him just weeks short of 50 years, always kept in touch,,,
RIP old friend, we'll see you soon enough.

Hey, Doug,

Are you still standing (or sitting...it doesn't matter!)? I just happened to be passing by the Web site and noticed this old post of yours.

You may not remember me, just as I don't remember many of the names of my HMM-262 friends from so long ago. I was just an average (crazy) door gunner, but I also ran the armory, after Pappy left. Most people knew me as a f-up! I was with the guys at Quang Tri air strip throughout 1968, returning home and getting an early discharge in January, 1969. I stayed in touch with a few of my closest buddies for awhile...and then "life" happened.

I'm now wondering if anyone still cares about all that, but my shrinks at the VA tell me that it does matter. I never talked about it with anyone, but I also never wanted to, for whatever reason. I've never missed looking back.

Anyway, I'm just checking in with this group again, and maybe I'll find some way to reconnect with anyone who might remember me. Maybe you can also help me get lucky!

Best Wishes,

Lynn Cannady (aka "Sam")
