I am looking for contact information for CWO-4 Bill Darby, CH-46 pilot with HMM-165"Buff City." Bill and his crew helped rescue me and my Huey crew (VMO-6, "Klondike") in the late afternoon of January 10, 1967. We were shot down in a "hot zone" attempting to pick-up some wounded ROC Marines in an area southwest of Ky Ha near Quang Ngai. Does anyone know how to get in touch with him; or, does anyone else recall this incident? Thanks!
Re: CWO-4 Bill Darby (CH-46 Driver/HMM-165, "Buff City")
I think you are looking for Ron Dalbey of HMM-165. He was promoted to 2Lt by the time I joined the squadron in February 67. Jim Wismar keeps track of the 165 personnel. Try him thru the 165 website.
