My name is Teri Phillips and I am Bill Phillips younger daughter. For all my life, I have had the opportunity to hear my dad's war stories and I feel like I have gotten a chance to somewhat understand what life was like for you guys.
After dinner tonight, Dad and I got started sharing stories like we often do, and it made me realize how important it is get all those stories down on paper. I know that I would like to have those stories, and I know there are many other family members who would like them also. Besides, how else are future generations going to really know what happened if history books are being "edited" so drastically.
I have decided that I want to try to put together a history of 163 by collecting the narratives of those who "wrote" that history, and I am asking for all the guys of 163 to help me complete this mission. If you would take the time to write/type some of your stories, both good and bad, I would really appreciate it. You can mail, e-mail, or hand-deliver any stories or pictures you want to contribute.
If you are coming to Fort Worth for the reunion, I would look forward to being able to finally meet you face-to-face. For those of you can't make it, you are welcome to get your contribution to me or Dad by mail or e-mail.
Thanks for your help, and I look forward to do getting to give this gift back to those who deserve it so.
