To ALL 462 & 463 vets!
Actually, ALL Frequent Wind veterans.
We are in the planning stages of a 40th Anniversary Reunion of Operation
Frequent Wind at the Fort Worth Aviation Museum.
We are the proud owners of Patches BuNo 153715.
We are in the process of the refurbish of the airframe and interior.
Next month (June) we'll pull it into the yard and drop the transmission back on,
and also put the blades back on.
We are planning to see if we can get another 53 flown in for the 40th and also
possibly a 46 and a 47 and possibly a Huey Cobra.
As I said, we are in the early planning stages for this.
All of you Frequent Wind veterans keep this in mind and watch here for updates.
Re: Planning started for 40th anniversary of Frequent Wind

I'll ask Ben Collins, Larry.
He flew it 8 times in '68 when it was brand new.
Here is a pic of Ben, my self and Tommy Fine at Meacham.

I was with 463 from 11 may 68 thru may 69. I believe the side number for this A/C was YH-12A. There is a photo in my 68-69 cruise book that appears to be this same A/C.
Re: Planning started for 40th anniversary of Frequent Wind
Thanks IronMike .... YH-12A it is!
To all interested Frequent Wind veterans:
We are a GO for the 40th Anniversary of Frequent Wind at the Fort Worth Aviation Museum
this coming May 15, 16 & 17 during our Founders Day celebration.
Helos will arrive on Friday the 15th from various squadrons with a history from Frequent
Wind and a Bar-B-Que will be held Friday night for the pilots and crews and VIPs during
the event.
Saturday will be a Hops & Props event.
Any and all Frequent Wind vets are invited!
Here's the latest on the Patches restoration.
I am on top of the 53 on the left and wearing hard hat #5 on the ground.
Later, I’m in my yellow shirt with my black cap, hammering the bolts tight on the F8,
also standing between the tail cone and main fuselage.
Watch the whole video.

Re: Planning started for 40th anniversary of Frequent Wind
The first unit has rogered up. VMR-1 from MCAS Cherry Point, NC has rogered up and will be supporting this event with a CH-46 Helicopter.
The event will run May 15 thru 17. The fly in will be Friday the 15th and the beer fest Saturday the 16th. VMR is the first squadron to roger
up, but others are receptive. The Frequent Wind Squadrons dinner will be Friday night with Gen Carey as a guest speaker talking on Frequent
Wind at the dinner.
Squadrons in Pensacola and New Orleans may also bring aircraft.
We now have confirmations of two 53s, an Osprey, and Cobras and Hueys out of New Orleans. All arriving on Friday the 15th of May.

Please see updates to the above posts.
We need to get this thread moved to the Reunions page so it can appear
in the scrolling reunions window on the home page.
Hi Mike ... look's like I missed a truly Great Event (Medical Reasons) ... see you in Laughlin, Nevada this October ! Will be 'READY-ROOM' able ... aka ... 'THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH'
our 'HMH-463 RE-UNION' bigger and better (if that possible???)! SEMPER FI !
I believe it was YH12a and at another time YH11a. Mike Britton was the CC when it was 11a.
