I have just returned from a 40th anniversary of the return to CONUS from Vietnam members of HMH-462 that were stabilized in 1968 and served in Vietnam from August 1968 through September 1969.

We had a surprising turn out of over 60 people which included the former Commanding Officer, Col Ron Nelson and the retired Assistant CMC, Gen Terry Dake, who served as a pilot in the squadron.

The reunion was held at Pensacola and it was the first time some of us had seen each other in 40 years.

Our records set during that tour are unmatched and I am proud to say that I served with those warriors.

I hope that we can muster as large a group for the Popasmoke reunion in Reno in 2010.

Duke,

That is awesome that so many members showed up for your reunion. HMH-462 is planning a 70th Anniversary Celebration that will be on MCAS Miramar on April 26th at 1600. We would love for members from every period of our past to attend. If you are in contact with any members of 462 from when you were a part of it please have them check out our website at www.hmh462.org. We would love to see you!
