Are there any former out there who originally went to Phu Bai with HMH-462. Their should be a few who monitor this website. If so let me know.

my father was at Phu Bai around 68... not sure excactly when he left... I do know that he was there during Tet.
He was a door gunner (his MOS was para rigging)...
He's still alive and I can get more specific information. I'll mention your name.

I reported to HMH-462 in March of 1968 as the S-2 Chief. I went to Phu Bai with the Advance Party and was there when the rest of the squadron came ashore in August 1968. I was the S-2 Chief until I was commissioned in May 1969 and then became the XO of the ProvMag Rifle Company and the PMO for MAG-36. I have managed to make a couple of the reunions but the 462 turn out has always been small.
