He was Med-Evaced from site at or near AT855562 ----- sniper fire was coming from direction of 8555--8655--8656....pick-up was made at or near 070930H....My buddies name was Sgt Michael Frank Flynn--SN 2093540....Fire fight occured as Flynn was paddling a junk across Song Vu Gia River with two other Marines in two other junks...Flynn was hit while in water ---- We swam out to retrieve Flynn and junk--brought him to shore he was severly wounded----called for Med-Evac (HMM 363 ?? not sure)...That's the last we saw of Flynn...Would there be Command Chronology or trip sheets etc. available where some records may exist to tell us what happened to Flynn....This is the final chapter in Flynn's book--but none of us knows what happen(details) after he was picked up.....Any assistance you may have would be most appreciated....Sure hope you've got some info to help us....For the record--Flynn is buried in Memorial Cemetery--Austin, Texas.....THANKS FOR YOUR TIME !!!! THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE !!!! GOD BLESS & SEMPER FI......Speer

Additional information

We have looked in some log books and since we do not have that portion of the month of April 1967 of After Action Sheets, but do have the Command Chronology that HMM-363 possibly did not do the pickup. So it would be a great help for the other H-34 squadrons that might have been flying in the DaNang and SW of DaNang area to check their records so these folks can have a final closure.

Greatly appreciate the reply.................but do note that the time frame was 0900h-------1000h on 4/7/1967..........this was an am fire-fight--not the normal night-time skirmish...........day-time............in researching, I did note that hmm 363 was based in danang and appeared to be the logical choice for pick-up............but-- that's never been verified --------- it could easily have been some other crew in the vicinity..........as previously stated----- this is the only area we lack info...........if there is anyway you could get command, unit chronology, or trip sheets on this particular run---it would be most appreciated...... for yours and others info -------------- sgt michael flynn of cap charlie 4 aka cap 2-2-4 ----called by 4th marines cap b 2-2 --quartered at tam hoa village---- on the banks of the song vu gia ------------- just to the west of hill 65.......flynn was on his "third tour" ......he was loved and respected by all village people --- he spoke fluent vietnamese as well as several of the dialects.....he was a super hero to most all of the villagers..........a great guy ---- first class leader--and one hell of a marine..........to get that third tour he had to send a request to the commandant---which he did, with permission granted......flynn was a very special marine --who's dedication to the mission; and personal sacrifice we , as brothers, wish to honor ....anything you can do for us would be greatly appreciated...........
Thanks for your service
God bless and semper fi.............speer

Ps -------------4th marines command chronology shows the mission--time -- day and hour ---- in closing we would like to verify with medi-evac the same and get info on his last hour to be able to close the book on our buddy ----------it's the only area we are lacking info....in fact we have no record of where he was taken ships hospital or other................

Thanks for offering to help......appreciate it.....
