Message:
Gentelmen,
I am seeking any info you might have on a Huey that crashed at Gen Walt's Beachhouse LZ in Spring/ Summer of 1967. Pilot was taking off and hit the chain-link fence with his tail roter resulting in a crash. I was Sgt. of the guard that day but can remember nothing about the crash after it hit the ground.
I am filing a PTSD claim w/ the VA regarding the incident and am without proof that it even happened. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Semper Fi,
Joe White
Sgt, USMC

I believe the pilot was Kerry Massari VMO-2. I heard he was trying to make backward takeoff from the pad (and didn't make it). The last address I have is from an old pop-a-smoke directory--212 Saxon Dr LaFayette LA 70508 Phone 425-290-6213.
